Flashdance (1983)

I suppose that in any Art form, everyone sees something different. Many recall this movie about a scrappy welder by day/ exotic dancer by night with nostalgia alone due to its iconic soundtrack. Others can still remember their infatuation with its lead after closeups of her exercise regimen made her iconic silhouette getting splashed with water all the more tantalizing.

Personally, I love the depiction of the creative process; it gradually unfolds as a character all its own while a young woman longs to become a professional dancer. At the heart of the story, many people are each trying to figure out their place in life. They all learn through trial and error rather than living out either a perfectly- paced evolving or ever- bumbling stereotype.
