Little Boy (2015)

When most people say they’re praying in the midst of painful circumstances, what they actually mean is they’ve developed tunnel vision in light of their pain. St. Paul warned, “Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith…”

Whether we’re already in communication with God or waiting to become entrenched in our circumstances, unwavering fervency is rare. The love of a little boy for his father, who’s been captured and held prisoner by the enemy should convict even the most seemingly mature; trust without cynicism is found in clean hands and a pure heart. With the help of a mentor, who helps him learn from God’s love for every person– even for those with whom his country is at war, one child stands in faith against all odds. As Jesus Christ said, “Truly I say to you unless you turn and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.”

Though the entire town has their doubts– and some even mock him– the boy courageously stands firm in his belief that “Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
